App Player - Run Android Apps on your Mac

One year after the release of App Player for Windows, BlueStacks brings Android to Mac OS X.
With the current version (alpha-1) you can only test a fixed set of apps with the BlueStack App Player, with the upcoming alpha-2 release you will be able to download and install any Android app you like.
Running PULSE
It integrates quite nicely in the os, you can run Apps directly from OS X or from the player itself.

Since the current version is quite limited its hard to say how good it actually works, but it looks very promising so far.

Mountain Lion - Developer Preview 4 Build 12A256

Apple released a Security Update for Mountain Lion via the Mac App Store.

This update tests the new Mountain Lion Security Updates system. The new system includes:
  •  Daily Checks for required security updates
  •  The ability to install required security updates automatically or after restarting your Mac
  •  A more secure connection to Apple's update servers.
This update includes general updates and improvements to Mountain Lion Developer Preview 4.

I think the Privacy Settings got updated as well.

Mountain Lion - Developer Preview 4 Build 12A248

Apple released a new build of Mac OS X Mountain Lion (12A248) and its the second time apple is pushing the update through the App Store instead of releasing a complete new DP.

So whats new?

Facebook integration
Like with twitter in the previous build you can now share images, websites etc.. directly from the OS to Facebook.

Note: to enable Facebook integration you need to download an additional plug in.

Power Nap
When your Mac goes to sleep, it still gets things done with Power Nap. It periodically updates Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Notes, Photo Stream, Find My Mac, and Documents in the Cloud. When your Mac is connected to a power source, it downloads software updates and makes backups with Time Machine. While all that updating is going on, the system sounds are silent and no lights or fans come on, so nothing disturbs you. And when your Mac wakes up, it’s good to go.

Note: this only works on Macs with flash storage; the Retina Macbook Pro and the Macbook Air.

A new wallpaper

Apple also released a new build of Xcode, 4.4 DP6.

Wow, the updates to the classic Pro line are already quite good, but the Retina MacBook is stunning, starting with just $2199 for the quad i7 2.3ghz and 256GB SSD this is a mus have for me. Sadly no updates to the Mac Pro and iMac Product lines.
