Isolator, a small application that helps you to concentrate. When you're working on a document, and don't want to be distracted, turn on Isolator. It will cover up your desktop and all the icons on it, as well as the windows of all your other applications.
Features
- Hide the Dock when you activate Isolator (10.5/10.6 only)
- Customize the background window (including semi-transparency and blur)
- 'Hide' background windows, as well as covering them up (they're just covered up by default)
- Customize the shortcut key (normally shift-command-i)
- Disable the menubar icon
- Left-clicking the menubar icon can activate Isolator
- Automatically launch Isolator when you log in
If your desktop usually looks like this:
Isolator helps to concentrate on the important task, with just one shortcut:

That sounds awesome, wish it had it on windows
Why not use fullscreen? ;D
isolation is always a good thing. just as isolating muscles during the workout for maximum weight gain and power gain to push even more weights week for week man. dont do steroids!
Really neat idea, although I'd never have the commitment to stick to one window.
This is a stroke of genius. As someone who can get very easily distracted this could be a god-send.
Sounds great
Really nice it will help me being more productive ;)
handy little app
very cool tip bro,
I like that idea.
thanks!
That's pretty cool, but I always full-screen my stuff, and rather enjoy being able to click to another screen.

It should also blog internet and all games, then it'll work =)
*block internet
thanks!
Good stuff. Thanks
That's neat, but probably not great for multitasking.
Unfortunately, it's broken under Lion. The toggle no longer appears in the task bar.
