First a word of advice: ultrasn0w users don’t update yet! ultrasn0w is not yet compatible with 4.3.1.
Download PwnageTool
Download PwnageTool
Download iOS 4.3.1 for your device
Run PwnageTool, select "Expert Mode" and choose your device.
Select "Browse for IPSW..." and select the downloaded firmware for your device.
PwnageTool will automatically active your phone and prevent Baseband update so you can just click "Build".
Save the custom firmware somewhere you find it later (desktop) and wait a few minutes.
Now follow the instructions on the screen.
If it doesn't work on the first try, just do it again.
If you've done it right you should see this screen.
Now open iTunes and click "Restore" while holding the alt key.
A file dialog opens, select the custom firmware you saved on your desktop.
Select "Restore" and wait till it's done.
After that iTunes will restore you're last backup.
Now we are done, enjoy your jailbroken 4.3.1 device :)
Known Problems:
Error 1601 during restore
If you are updating from a jailbroken 4.2.1 and u used tiny umbrella, remove the
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
line from your /etc/hosts file and restart iTunes.
No Service
Do the same procedure again but this time uncheck "active phone" in Pwnagetool.

@A.C.Brown
good thing this post is not about macs :P
thanks for the info man
Neat, not quite sure what the purpose is though.
Did someone try it out yet? I'm hesitant to try that out on my own. Also, I find myself less and less interested in jailbreaking cause you just have to do it over and over again. Kinda a hassle.
I have an Iphone 4 and it is jailbroken but how can i tether my phone to use my phones internet on my laptop
@paidvacation1605
either the built in feature in 4.3.1 which allows you to make a hotspot or tether via usb, with jailbreak you can do this without authorization from your isp (just check settings)
or install mywii (10$ i think) which does the same
@Mostly Irrelephant
sure i made this guide so i had to do it at least once ;)
but i already did this to 2 iphone4's
and 1 ipad
Seems pretty easy.
